Arahaza
Project: Porch to House
Contract Sum: £15,000
The client wanted a new porch to accommodate shoes and for somewhere to facilitate the drying of washing.
Part of the brief was to allow access around the porch to allow passage of a mower or wheelbarrow. The solution was to design a simple lean to structure in timber with a trapezoidal plan and clad in cedar shingles.
The roof was clad in zinc and a roof light added to provide light and natural ventilation for drying. The wedge shaped plan provides an interesting spacial effect, proving that architecture can be made even from small projects such as porches.
