We had previously carried out a loft conversion and bicycle store for a previous owner which is also shown .
The Client wanted to make use of the patio area to the rear for a kitchen extension, together with a bedroom extension at second floor level including a roof terrace on the existing flat roof to the first floor.
Planning was obtained for both, but due to budget constraints only the roof extension was eventually carried out.
The single storey extension was designed to bring in as much light as possible into the kitchen area, employing a large roof light, and the monopitch roof opens up towards the northern light and view to the garden.
For the roof extension, zinc was employed to clad the new dormers, using large areas of glazing to allow light deep into the heart of the bedroom, as well as a sun pipe to allow light and ventilation into the new toilet area.
